Plans and limits
What an AI trace is, the limits of each plan, the trial and the free plan, and what happens when your organization moves to a plan with lower limits.
On this page
Plans set how much you can send, how long data is kept, how many people and environments you have, and how deep incidents, approvals and governance go. This page lists the limits of each plan and what happens when a plan changes; prices and the full comparison are on the pricing page. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and do not include taxes that may apply.
AI traces#
An AI trace is one run of your AI workflow end to end: everything with the same trace id, however many model calls, tool calls and steps it has. A trace counts once, in the month Worksi first receives it, while it stays active. A trace that resumes after a pause counts again: after 6 hours without activity for a trace your application or the SDK started, or after 10 minutes for a trace the gateway started itself. A gateway request without a trace header (X-AIW-Trace-Id or traceparent) starts its own trace.
When this month’s AI traces are used up, the gateway answers new traces with 429 plan_quota_exceeded, the MCP gateway answers tool calls that would start a new trace with JSON‑RPC error -32008 plan_quota_exceeded, and ingestion accepts each request but rejects the spans of new traces one by one; calls and spans of traces already started keep going. This lasts until the next calendar month (UTC) or until a larger plan is activated. Owners are notified at 80% and 100% of each quota.
Fair use: each AI trace may average up to 100 spans and 100 gateway requests. Worksi only enforces these as monthly backstops of 100 times your plan’s monthly AI traces.

Users are members plus pending invitations. Environments count the active ones; a suspended environment doesn’t count.
The trial and the free plan#
The first organization of each account starts with a 3‑day trial of Scale features, with no credit card. When the trial ends, it moves to the free Developer plan and keeps working within that plan’s limits. Further organizations of the same account start without a trial or a free plan: an owner requests a plan to activate them. Until an owner verifies their email address, an organization on the trial or the free plan is limited to 1,000 AI traces, 1,000 gateway requests and 10,000 traced spans a month.
When a plan has lower limits#
When your organization moves to a plan with lower limits, for example when the trial ends, Worksi brings it within the new limits and deletes nothing you created:
- Users: pending invitations beyond the limit are revoked, newest first; then members are suspended until the organization fits, starting with the roles with the fewest permissions and the most recently added. Owners are never suspended.
- Environments: the environments with the most traffic in the last 7 days stay active and the others are suspended. API keys of a suspended environment are refused with
403 environment_suspendedon write and inference endpoints. Read‑only status, approval polling and model listing stay open. To choose which environment stays active, open Settings → Environments and resume a suspended one: it switches places with an active one. - Slack and webhook channels are paused when the plan doesn’t include them; email alerts keep working.
- Standard runbooks the plan doesn’t include are archived. Your own runbooks stay and keep working.
- Data: telemetry older than the new retention is kept for 30 more days, then deleted. When the plan doesn’t include the AI Graph, its map is kept for those 30 days too.
Before a trial ends, the owners get an email the day before with the list of what will be paused; after any other move, they get the list when the move happens. When a larger plan is activated, suspended members and environments come back up to its limits, and paused channels come back when it includes them. To keep a member suspended anyway, choose Keep suspended in Governance → Members & access; to keep an environment suspended, choose Keep suspended in Settings → Environments. Worksi then leaves it as it is when your plan allows more.
Audit log#
Every change is recorded and kept permanently. Your plan sets how far back you can view and export the audit log: 30 days on Startup, one year on Scale and as agreed on Enterprise. On Developer the audit log shows only changes made by Worksi support, and changes made by Worksi support are always visible on every plan.
Earlier plans#
Starter, Pro and Business keep their limits until renewal: organizations on these earlier plans keep their plan, limits, features and price until their current period ends, and Worksi contacts the owners before it. Their quotas count gateway requests and traced spans rather than AI traces.
